The camera doesn’t appear
Check that Zensō is allowed to use the local network. Without it, Zensō can’t find any camera.
- ZensōOn
Then check the camera against the Connection Guide:
- The camera and this device are on the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
- The network name uses only English letters, numbers and common symbols.
- The camera uses STA mode, or Search for Wi-Fi network on older cameras, not AP mode.
- The camera is still on its connection screen, waiting for the other device.
If it still doesn’t appear, connect by address: long-press the network button in the top right of the camera list and enter the IP address shown on the camera.
Pairing fails
Create a new connection profile on the camera instead of reusing an old one, and confirm the request on the camera when it appears.
If the camera was paired before, remove it from Zensō first: swipe left on it in the camera list and tap Remove, then pair again.
The camera is busy
If Zensō shows “The camera is busy”, turn the camera off and on again, quit and reopen Zensō, then connect again.
The connection drops after switching apps
Turn on Background connection and set location access to Always. Without it, iOS suspends Zensō soon after you leave it, and the camera disconnects.
- Background connectionOn
The camera’s screen goes dark in Live View
By default, Live View hands control to the phone: the camera locks its screens and buttons while Zensō shows the picture. To keep the camera’s screens, buttons and AF indicators working, turn this off.
- Transfer Control to PhoneOff
With it off, Live View runs on the camera and the phone at the same time. Switch between photo and video with the camera’s selector, and change any setting Zensō can’t reach on the camera.
Live View doesn’t start
When the camera refuses Live View, Zensō shows the camera’s reason: low battery, a capture still processing, high temperature or a lens error. Wait for the capture to finish or let the camera cool down, check the lens, or charge the battery, then try again.
A LUT isn’t applied
LUTs are applied only to Live View in video mode. Switch the camera to video, then choose the LUT.
- Restore LUT
RAW files aren’t downloaded automatically
Auto-download receives JPEG and HEIF photos only. Download RAW files from the Gallery instead: select them, then download.
Start over
These are in Zensō’s Settings, under Diagnostics. None of them removes photos or videos you’ve downloaded.
- Clear Cache removes the gallery’s thumbnails and previews, logs and download history.
- Reset Paired Data removes every paired camera. Pair your cameras again afterwards.
- Clear All App Data also removes your settings and imported LUTs.
Send a diagnostic package
A diagnostic package holds Zensō’s logs, crash reports and settings, which show what happened between Zensō and the camera. It stays on your device until you share it.
Reproduce the problem
Do what went wrong once more, so the logs include it.
Share the package
In Zensō’s Settings, open Diagnostics, then Logs. Tap the share button and choose Share Diagnostic Package.
Email it
Send it to support@shisheng.dev with your camera model and a few words on what happened.
